And, UNFORTUNATELY, that link (http://www.healthy.arkansas.gov/programsServices/certificate...
ONLY for ordering death records from 1935 thru 1961. This link says:
If you wish to order a death certificate that is less than 50 years old or before 1935, you must apply through the "Arkansas Department of Health’s Vital Records Section".
this gets you back to the same page ..... and round & round we go:
Arkansas Vital Records has death records dating from February 1, 1914 through the present. There are a limited number of death records available for deaths occurring between 1881 and 1914 in Little Rock and Fort Smith. The Arkansas History Commission keeps an alphabetical listing of deaths in Arkansas dating from 1914 through 1949, but they do not have the actual death records.
You may search and order Arkansas death certificates from 1935 to 1961 via the Online Death Certificate Search & Order Service.
I spent over a half hour going back and forth and following other leads. If anyone knows another site to check, I would be happy to know it.
Thanks anyway, chris
