I am trying to find more information about the Scott's in Saline County. I believe they came from TN. I need some family tree information of who their ancestors were previous to their move to Saline Co, AR. I think they might be closely related to my William Scott b. 1790 SC married Judith unknown b. 1788 SC living in Fayette, TN in 1840. Judith was without William in Fayette in 1850, along with John and Sarah A. Probably William and Judith's children were Benjamin b. 1810-1820; Winfrey b. 1816 KY; John b. 1824 AL; Sarah A. b. 1833 TN. Winfrey is listed as Wenfry Scott in Fayette, TN in 1850 census with wife Polly (Baulkum/Baucom) 33 b. NC and children: Elizabeth 9 TN, Susan A. 7 TN, Gillum 5 TN, and Verlinda E. 2 TN. I believe Susan A. Scott married Eli D. Clemons/Clement and they moved to Pontotoc, MS by 1860. John Scott, my ancestor, married Virginia Wait in 1855 and they are also in Pontotoc, MS in 1860 census, but their descendents were close to Salline Co, AR by 1905, in Yell, Montgomery, and Logan Counties, among others. I do not know where Benjamin and Winfrey went with their families but I do know that Winfrey is an unusual name and the Benton, Saline Co, AR Scott's have Winfrey, as well as Benjamin, and William. I suspect the Saline Co. Winfrey G. may have the name of Gillum as a middle name. I will appreciate any help.
