This is info for 1880 Census, Big Rock, Pulaski, AR:
PORTER, John, B, M, 42, b. AL
Julia, wife, 37, b. VA
Children -- Charlott, 7; Cornelia, and Sherman, 11 month.
Stepchildren - DOUTHED, J. W, 23, b. VA;
DOUTHED, Alax, 18, b. VA (later said TN); and
DOUTHED, Molly, 17, b. VA. (may be wife of Alax?)
MATHEWS, Harriet, 16, b. AR
MATTHEWS, Willie, 8, bo. AR
I've been looking at 1870 pub. index; 1870 online census index, but to no avail.
Perhaps Julia (BROWN) was married to someone else between 1870 and 1880 census in AR. Her daughter Harriet, is 16, and I've tried to find a Harriet that age in AR (any county), to no avail.
I've tried to find George and Alex too, but to no avail. The name DOUTHED was so butchered that it could be spelled any kind of way. On the same census 1880, AR, Pulaski, Big Rock, George W. DOWTHAR (son of Julia), the spelling is this way. I believe that George (G.W. & J.W. are the same person, approx. same age, so he might have been listed twice.
I need new eyes and help, and would surely appreciate it.
Thank you,
Cyrille
