After the Civil War, the bodies of soldiers were re interred in National Cemeteries. A detail was taking bodies from Batesville to Little Rock when flooding prevented them from going beyond Duvalls Bluff, Prairie County. The records indicate that these bodies were placed in gravesites at Duvalls Bluff.
