Samuel GEE md. Martha TINNEY, possibly dau. of William TINNEY, 3 Sep 1835 in Carroll Co., MO. Carroll County later beget Livingston and Grundy cos., which is where the GEE family eventually settled.
Samuel GEE moved to AR about 1846, first settling in Newton County then Pope County. Pope County tax records show that he lived in both Allen and Northfork Twp's in the 1850s. Also paying taxes in Allen Twp. were Hiram and Nathan TINNEY in 1856; Hiram and Isaak TINNEY in 1857; and Hiram and Ike TINNEY in 1858. Neither the TINNEY's nor GEE's appear on the tax rolls in Pope County in 1860, although Samuel GEE was residing in Pope County (North Fork Twp.) at the 1860 US census. Samuel last paid taxes in 1861 in neighboring Conway County.
I am not a TINNEY descendant, so I have not compiled much data on them. I hope this helps.
