I have been working on my Mathis/Mathews line for some time and Polly Mathis is part of my family tree. She is my grand-father's niece. Her parents were William Mathis/Mathews and Martha Ellen Church. Her first husband was William S. Dawson. They had one daughter, Martha E. Dawson. Polly and W. S. Dawson were married 18Sep1898 in Pope county, Arkansas Book G Page 457. I don't know what happened to this marriage----I assume he died. Polly married Claude Pitman Sikes on 12Apr1907 in Pope county, Arkansas Book I Page 562. Polly and Claude had 7 known children; Lou Emma 1908-1912, Roy 1909-1909, Clivie 1911-1911, Travis Tipton 11May1912-09Apr1987, Delta Annette 10Nov1915-05Jun1996, Delbert Pittman 11May1919-08Oct1968, Jessie 1918-?still living.
Polly was born 20Apr1875 and died 08Jan1976 and is buried at the Forks of the Creek Cemetery North of Hector, Arkansas. Her parents are also buried in this cemetery. Claude is buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery about 2 miles east of Hector. I can send you a picture of her monument and a newspaper article about her 100th birthday if you will reply to me so I have your email.
Hope this information is something you did not have.
Good Luck in your research. Sylvia Watts
