George Washington Carter owned land in Pope Co. in 1843, Twp. 6N, Range 19W, William Carter owned land in same Twp. on same date. Trying to connect them. There is mention of G. Washington est, Gally Rock Twp. in 1844. Could George have been dead then. Would like to locat a map of the Townships during those dates. George is listed on the 1847 tax list as, Carter, G.W. est. I assume est. means estate. Need map and Help! Cant find him on the xensus anywhere. Ken Speer
