Asa F. ROBERTON's probate 1843 Lawrence Co, AR lists several heirs, included sisters "Mary STEEL & Charity MATTOX of Poinsette Co, AR" Mary ROBERTSON m. 1st Benjamin REYNOLDS,& 2nd Clifton STEELE; Charity ROBERTSON m. Edward MATTIX or MATTOX. Seek info on either women.

Chairty (Robertson) Mattix was the daughter of William Robertson and wife,Sally (Skaggs) Robertson of Kentucky. They Moved to Arkansas in 1821. Chairty also had a brother, Charles who married Peggy Crowley. Chairty and Edward Mattix had twelve children. After Edwards death she moved to West Prarie to live with her daughter, Mrs Micholas McCall and later married Mr. Speaks.

The names I have for her parents are James W. ROBERTSON (ROBINSON) & Sarah Unknown, so you have me jumping up & down with "SKAGGS". (My husband's ancestor is their son Moses who m. Nancy CRAVENS). Please, how did you find her name? However, my records show James W. ROBERTSON died 1817 in Lawrence Co, AR - "killed by outlaws shortly after arrival in area", so if we are talking about the same person, one of us have a wrong date for entry into Arkansas

I've searched for *proof* that James W ROERTSON m Sarah SKAGGS. I only have the Charles SKAGGS will, Green Co, KY 4 Feb 1815/22 Jan 1816 Bk 1-pg 37, listing: "Wife Lucy. Sons: Moses, Archibald; Frederick, Thos. Daughters: Rachel BLEVENSES heirs; Nancy MEREDITH; Polly GRAY; *Sally ROBERTSON*; Tempy BELCHER, wife of Berry BELCHER. also Nathan BLEVINS. Witnesses: Jas. AKIN, Chas. BLEVINS, Charety HOWE, Wm.G. OWENS; Zachariah NANCE." Hardly proof! Do you have any thing else?
