I think I answered you way back when you posted this message, i hope? However i couldn't' remember? I married a Slocum while living here in alaska, his family is from Indian River Michigan. However while doing research on my thimpsons from ar. looking in Cross CO. there are a lot of Slocums. Cross CO. is bordered to Poinsett. I would look there for sure.
