Joseph Y. Erwin married Nancy A. Cummings in Perry County around 1860. They may have orphaned my great-great grandfather and his siblings. I have records of Joseph Y. Erwin being in the area in 1860(census and slave schedule). Where would someone be buried in the area of Bentley around 1865-1870?

Was there a reason the poplulation dropped between 1860 and 1870?

I am looking for any information about JAMES MITCHELL or SARAH BRIGHT. They were the parents of my grandfather, JAMES ROBERT MITCHELL. According to his death certificate, he was born in Perryville, Arkansas on Nov. 1, 1901. My mother told me that he had several brothers and sisters, but I don't know any names. I can not find a census report of any of them. He married my grandmother ADA LORRAINE JOHNSON on Dec 11 1935 in Perry County. They moved to Denver, CO where they raised a daughter and son. My grandfather died Oct 22, 1954.

I am desperately trying to find information about a Minnie Jane Baskins (b. 1892 in Casa, Arkansas; d. Nov 1930 in Little Rock).

Minnie was married to Alvin Asa Wright (b. 12 Nov 1892; d. 29 Mar 1965) and had four children (two babies who died as infants, and two daughters, one of whom is still living).

I have been told that Minnie's parents were Robert Baskins (b. 03 Aug 1873; d. 01 Feb 1969) and Nora Christmas (b. abt. 1875).

I know very little about this family and would desperately like to find more information about them.

Does anyone know anything about Minnie Jane Baskins?

Tucker Family in early to mid 1800s in Arkansas?

I am looking for a John, Thomas or possibly Alfred TUCKER that might have been living in Arkansas before 1845. The Tucker I am looking for might have married an Elizabeth Badeau from LA or MS. At one time we thought we had them connected to Jane Humphry, but that is not correct.
John Jefferson Tucker was born in 1845 in McComb, MS, the son of the above query.J.J. Tucker married (in 1875) Anneta Whitcomb of Covington St. Tam., LA. JJ. and Anetta named one of their sons, Thomas Brinsfield Tucker. There might be a Brinsfield connection. We are having a devil of a time finding out about his parentage. Family lore is very confusing and contridictory!

Mittie Mitchell was my great-aunt. She was the daughter of Sarah Bright and James Mitchell. Mittie was born about 1896 in Perry County Arkansas. I found where she married an "Iron" Hooper in Perry County in 1912. I know that Iron is a nickname and I am not sure about Mittie. However according to the source where I got the marriage information these are the names listed on the marriage cerificate.
If anyone can tell me anything about this family I would really appreciate it.

I am looking for a cemetery record Panthea Lovelace.
I believe she was buried in the Houston Cemetery, Perry County, Ar. She is 86 in the 1910 census. The records that I have show she died in 1916. I am just trying to get additional info, if there is any.
I am also looking for cemetery information on a Calvin Brown Stevens/Stephens that died in Perry County in May of 1853. I am not sure what cemetery, but Houston, Perryville, and Perry townships would be my best guess.
I am also looking for birth records for the name Stevens/Stephens between 1871 and 1881 in either Houston, Perryville, or Perry townships. Any info on Joseph Freeman Stevens/Stephens and Laura Cornelia Lovelace as far as Perry County is concerned would be appreciated. They were just there for around 7 years during the years mentioned just above.

I'm looking for info on Ida and Ben Fort(e) that lived in Perry County. On the 1910 Federal census Ben Forte is listed with Ida as wife and 2 sons - Bennie and Raymond. In the 1920 Federal census Ben Fort is listed with Fanny as the wife. I know that my great grandmother Ida died when my grandfather Raymond was very young (about 3 or 4) but I have no other info. I am assuming that she is buried in Perry County. If anyone has any info I would appreciate it.

William was married first to Martha Vaughn and then to Dora Spain. John and Lennie had Tabitha Ellen, Lewis Claude, Robert Clay, Leonard Edward, Martin Harve, Con (died when he was 4), Bruce Avery and Walter Carroll. On May 17, 1906 Jeff Hunter shot & killed William Francis Meek. I do not know if it was the Father or the son who shot William Meeks. I am hoping the Hunter descenants may be able to help me with Court Records as I have not had success searching for them.

I wanted to know how to locate the Coroner's Jury Records to find out if William Meeks had family in the area. I thought maybe it would name some family or they might have testied? I have never located William Meeks on a Census and I would like to know who his family might be? His Mother was Mary "Mollie" Ann Fowler (b. @1855 TX) (1) Meeks, he abandoned the family, (2) Thomas he died (3) Britton, heard he did not like her children & she divorced him, (4) Tucker. Mary "Mollie" Ann was Sister of my Great Grandpa, William D. Fowler b. @1845 MO.

I know that William Francis Meeks was married to Corrinda Bagwell and had a child named Rose Meeks but I wondered if William Francis Meeks had parents or siblings in the area?

Several years ago my late husband took me up to Petit Jean to show me where several of his family members were buried. The church was atop Petit Jean. I think it was between Mather's Lodge and the Rockefeller site. It was a white frame church with a pavilion and an old cemetery. William Francis Meeks & Corrinda "Cassie" Catherine Bagwell

I had a former query that had mistaken information on this couple.

William Francis Meeks added the "s" to his last name as an adult (I heard), he was born January 17, 1872 - 1874. I know very little about him except he was born to Mary "Mollie" Ann Fowler & her first husband, we THINK his name was Robert Meek, do not know when or where they married.

William Francis Meeks married December 17, 1893, Perry Co., AR to Corrinda "Cassie" Catharine Bagwell, daughter of Redmon Bagwell & Mary Jane Bostic. William & Cassie had one daughter that we know about, Rose Lee Meeks, September 10, 1895.

I have never located them on the 1900 Census. There was no 1890 Census so I have never seen William Francis Meeks on a Census except on the 1880 Census in Bear Creek, Searcy Co., AR with his grandparents, John C. Fowler & Olivia Heath Fowler, on that Census little William is listed as Will Fowler (I assume because he is with his grandparents). William Meek's Mother, Mary Ann Fowler Meek Thomas is with her 2nd husband, James Clark Thomas, they live nearby with a new baby. I imagine the grandparents & 16 year old Aunt Ollie were probably taking care of him or he may have been spending the night.

In 1906 William Francis Meeks was a Barber in Casa, Perry Co., AR. He died May 17, 1906, Casa, Perry Co., AR. He is buried in Needmore Cemetery, Yell Co., AR.

I would appreciate any information on this family.

His name is: Richard Clark (R C) Walker, wife: Mary R. He reportedly was born approx. 1842 Florida and died 1881 Dover, Arkansas. I am seeking information for my husband's family. Calaway/Calloway Bean born ABT 1835 in Tennessee. Calloway married Margaret Ann Wallace. They had the following children Willam M. He then married Martha MNU(maiden name unknown) and had one child Millie Bean. He then married Mattie Maud Garner. They had the following children: Martha, James Franklin, Monroe, Jethro, Woodrow, Velma, and Albert Bean.

My husband, Jim (1965) is the grandson of James Edward Bean (1891).

Does anyone know if a list of burials exists for Goat Bluff Cemetery? A cousin who has been there says there are many graves with only stones to mark them. I am particularly interesed in members of the family of Thomas Sparks Crain who supposedly are buried there. Thomas was born 17 May 1862 Pontotoc Co., Mississippi and died 30 September 1929. He married Ella Isabelle Morris. The family owned a store on Hwy 7.

An avid gardener, she is survived by her brother, Joe Harkey of Highland, CA; sons William Pope of Wister, OK and Fred Trickett of Highland; daughters JoAnn Blankenship of Victorville, CA and Joyce Salcedo of Grass Valley, CA; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 5 at 11 am at Montecito Memorial Park in Loma Linda.

I'm interested in Walter A. Fray(Fry), he is my grandfather, and I have been looking for his father and mother for so very long... it has taken years to find him in 1900 census. Grandpa Walter met Grandma Luna (Lucy) Cochran in Clay County, AR they were married there and raised their children there as well as died there.
All their children are gone now as well, so there is no one to ask questions to!
But still no clue as to who his father and mother is! I'm sure that his mother's maiden name is Rodden same as Margaret (Rodden) Brandon. But I'm unsure to his father's christain name, I've heard that it is Alexander, and then it was Christopher, and that it also was John Christopher Fray (Fry). I like remodeling old houses. I recently was working on my house when I saw a spelling book inside the closet walls of the old plaster house. Inside the Book, the previous owner had penned several notes and names. She has written Miss Gladys Marie Thurmond and Annie Thurmond. She mentions Hauston Lard?, Sad Haust? or Hoster?, Ruth Wallace, Treva Callihan, Gladdie M Sheperd, Katie and Delbert, Ashley Wilson and Austin. She mentions several dates around March of 1913 and either Perryville Ark or Berryville Ark. She mentions someone, possibly her dad going to Oklahoma. I now live in Okmulgee Oklahoma.
