I am also researching this family. Both the Wheelingtons
and the Creechs are relatives of mine. Sarah Elizabeth
Wheelington is the sister of my great great grandfather John
W. Wheelington, John was born Feb. of 1857 and I believe
Sarah was born abt. 1859. They also had two more brothers
William H. was the oldest he was born abt. 1850 and Thomas
born abt.1854. Their parents was Calvin and Lou M. Foster
Wheelington. Most census says that Calvin was from Alabama but I also found one that said Virginia. Lou was from
Pennsylvannia. According to some of the info I have gotten
Lou was a indian. Both Calvin and Lou are buried in Red Hill
Cemetery in Ouachita Co, Ark. along with alot of other Wheelingtons and Creeches. John and William both married
Creech women. John married Nancy Creech "they are my
g-g grandparents and William married Amanda Creech.
I know that Calvin was in Ouachita Co., Ark. in 1860 because
he is on the land tax records. They also have his name
spelled Whelenton on that record. I am still working on this
family tree and I don't have any definite info past Calvin & Lou.
