Classification: Query
Surnames: Lott, Davidson
In October 1884 in Carroll County, Miss., Davis Lott -- full name Jefferson Davis Lott -- and a brother, Charles Lott, were indicted in the murder of one Henderson Somerville. Mollie Davidson, stepdaughter of the murdered man and a cousin of the Lotts, was a witness to the grand jury that indicted the brothers. There was never a conviction, one reason being the failure to get necessary witnesses to come to court. Latter day researchers find record in early Nov. 1884 of a marriage in Nevada County, Ark., between Mollie and "J. D. Lott" -- who was already married in Carroll County, Miss. Can anyone shed light on this alleged marriage -- and upon whatever happened to either of these people?
