Hi,

I'm looking for information on William B. White, son of William M. White and Martha A. White (don't know her maiden name).

William B. White seems to have lived in Prescott at the same time as another man by the same name -- William B. White, son of Joseph Rosser White and Pheobe Whiteside. My assumption is that I'm related to this clan of Whites too, but I'm not sure how.

My William B. White appears in the 1880 Census, living in the household of his father William M, along with mother Martha A, and young brother Charles. He was born about 1860.

He married Nancy "Nannie" Jane Melson on 21 Oct 1886. She was the daughter of Leandor Elmore Melson and Mary Ellen Wingfield.

William B. and Nannie White's children were:

William Elmore "Buck" White
Lawrence White
Charles Marshall White
Beatrice W White
Elbie White

Charles Marshall White married Ethel Marie Beggs, daughter of Henry Beggs and Carrie Harrison. Their children are:
Charles Dee White
Dorothy Snow White
Bob White

If you have any information on William B. White, his ancestors, or his descendants, including photos, documents, newspaper clippings, or anything else, I love to see them. Would appreciate any census lookups too. I have the 1880 census information mentioned above. I also have 1920 census on Henry Beggs, and 1930 census on Charles Marshall White. Anything new would be appreciated.

I forgot to mention that William M White and Martha A White are mentioned in the biographies of people buried at De Ann Cemetery. There's a PDF version of these biographies on the website for the Nevada County Depot and Museum. There are many Whites listed on this document, and I'm not sure if/how I'm related to them. Any further information on the people in this document would be much appreciated.

Keep in mind that two different William B Whites are listed here! I've had a hard time finding information about my William B White because of the "other" William B White.

I don't have info on YOUR W.B. White, but just in case it helps.....I do have info on William Berry White, son of Joseph Rosser White and Phoebe Whiteside.

W.B. was a newspaperman in Prescott, and he and his brother Eugene E. White founded "The Picayune" newspaper in 1877, which is still in existence today. Eugene E. White was also Asst. Attorney in the Dept of the Interior in Washington DC at one time.

William B. White married Francis Kirkland. They moved to Mexia TX for a while but came back to Prescott. From 1893-1899, W. B. was a U.S. Deputy Marshall, as well as city marshall, at Prescott. In 1914, they moved to Texarkana, where he died in 1918. Their children were Phoebe, Emma R., Fannie E. William Archie White.

Do either of you ladies have information on an individual named S.L. White (male) living in Nevada Co. in the mid 1890's? I have a copy of the marriage bond for S.L. White and Fannie Breedlove but can not figure out who he is and it's driving me nuts! I know that a Powell C. White married a Eugenie Turnage but can not place S.L. in the same family. Supposedly S.L. passed away about 1899.

Any ideas?? Any info??
