In my research I could not find anything earlier than 1918. The Mt. Ida Library has newspapers on microfilm but nothing that early. Like I said I think they start about 1920 and they are spiratic. You can get to the lirbaries web site from a link on the Montgomery County web site. As for Polk Co. I believe there is a library in Mena that has old newspapers but I have no idea what years they have.
