I'm trying to find out where the Richlands Township was located in Monroe County in 1870.

In 1870 my David Daniel HOOD & family lived in Richlands Township, Cotton Plant post office. What's odd is that in 1860 his father, John Robert HOOD lived in St. Francis County in Richlands Township, Cotton Plant post office. Did the county lines overlap at some point?
