RICHARD & WILLIAM HENDERSON

Surnames: Henderson, Clark
According to records from LDS my gr.gr. gr. grandfather, Richard Henderson, b. ca 1751 and his son, William Henderson, died on the same day, August 9, 1851, in AR. I am assuming Madison Co. because that is the county where Agnes Henderson Clark, the daughter of Richard Henderson, died. I would like a copy of obituaries if someone can tell me where I might go to look for them.

Hello,
I work with the Madison County Genealogical & HIstorical Society and according to the enumeration of the "McBroom Cemetery", William Henderson and his wife, Margaret Peggy Boils Henderson, are both buried in that cemetery. Their graves are covered with large coffin shaped rocks.

I find William Henderson and his family living in Madison County in the 1840 census, but did not find them in 1850 census.

As for obituaries.....there are none available for this time period. The newspapers that we have available start after 1900.

Thank you so much, Joy. Your reply was extremely helpful. Can you tell me where the McBroom cemetery is and if there are any other Hendersons or any Clarks enumerated there?

McBroom Cemetery is located 4 1/2 miles south of Huntsville, Arkansas. The Henderson family lived near the little town of "Aurora, Arkansas", which is about 2 miles from McBroom Cemetery.

I am attaching a genealogy report from my files on this family. You will notice that some family members are buried in Aurora Cemetrey and Henderson Creek Cemetery. Both of these cemeteries are within a few miles of McBroom Cemetery.....all near the community of Aurora.

There is also mention of the Vaughan-Whitener Cemetery and the Evans Cemetery near Hindsville.... these are near the town of Hindsville, Arkansas, where the Clark line of this family lived.

Let me know if you have any questions about any of this information. I don't pretend that the information is complete....it only shows what I have entered into my Family Tree Maker program. I'm not related to this family.
