I live in Madison County, Arkansas, and work with the Historical Society here. I may be able to help you with you search for information on the Upton & Davis family.

I had a hard time following the names that you listed, but I believe you are inquiring about Elizabeth Upton who married Elijah Davis. I do have information on that family. Elizabeth Upton was the daughter of John Wesley Upton who was born 1828, and Martha Bowen who was born 1830.

Elizabeth Upton married Elijah Daniel Davis about 1892 in Madison County. Elijah was the son of Jarrett Wiley Davis and Esther Drake Davis. Both Elizabeth and Elijah are buried in the Brashears Cemetery near St. Paul, Arkansas. Elizabeth was Elijah's second wife. I can give you further information on them, if you wish.

You also listed lots of other names in your question. I can't determine if the names you listed are siblings to Elizabeth and/or Elijah or if they are children and grandchildren.

The information that I have available does not agree with what you tell me about Elizabeth Upton Davis. Her tombstone in the Brashears Cemetery at St. Paul, Arkansas, shows: "Ducena Elizabeth Davis". If you will look at the 1870 Madison County census, Bowen Township, you will find that Ducena is listed as being the daughter of John W. Upton, born 1828 in Arkansas, and his wife, Martha Bowen Upton, born 1830 in Tennessee.

There is a Davis researcher who supplied the information that we have at the Historical Society. I suggest you contact him directly as he has various old documents to support his data. His name is Ted Davis, 3101 Rogers Avenue, Fort Smith, AR 72903.

You can obtain a copy of the obituary of Ducena Elizabeth Upton Davis by writing to the Madison County Genealogical & Historical Society, P. O. Box 427, Huntsville, AR 72740. Her date of death of 12 August 1956. They can copy her obituary from the newspaper and send it to you. It will show her parents' names.

Could the Quilly Lacy you are referring to be the same one that I am looking for? I am looking for a Quilly Lacy who married a woman with the last name of Upton from Alabama who had a son named Emory Lee Lacy who married Sarah Elizabeth Gabbard (my grand parents). Emory and Sarah had 9 kids. Moved to Orange County, CA. from Arkanas.

Frances Upton and Quilly Lacy were my great grandparents. I am not sure how many kids they had but one of thier sons was my grandfather, Emory Lee Lacy. Emory and his wife Sarah Elizabeth had 9 kids including my father Harold. Any info you have on them would be greatly appreciated.
