Hi Eric Thanks for the info. I am still a novice at this Computer stuff and I guess I don't know how to get to your data base at WorldConnect.

My wife has an old picture of her grandparents on their wedding day (Sept. 25, 1900). The groom is Edgar Brown Cravens (E. B. Cravens); the bride Loura Adelia Towry. Pictured with them are another man and woman whose names we are unsure of. The order in the picture left to right is: E. B. Cravens, Loura A. Towry, unknown man, unknown woman.

Although the unidentified man bears no noticeable family resemblance to E. B. Cravens, older family members think they are possibly:

(1) William J. Cravens (brother of groom) and his wife (Flora Cotton?)

(2)Charles Felix Cravens (brother of groom) and his wife (Dora Stephens?)

or (3) persons named in a newspaper article in 1950 (golden wedding celebration) as having been attendants: Mrs. Jim Rogers (of Paris, AR) and Luther Plunkett (of Oklahoma).

We would like very much to identify these people but find it difficult since most everyone who would have known them has passed away. Does anyone have suggestions, or perhaps have another copy of this picture with individuals identified.

Thanks for any help.

Terry Mount

I can probably identify them. My cousin Towery Plunkett (nephew of Loura Adelia (Towry) Cravens) is still alive and will probably know them. Can you send a scan of the pic to:

I'VE JUST BEGUN RESEARCHING ON THE WRIGHT LINE. JAMES L. WRIGHT (PREACHER) WAS LIVING IN BENTON (LATER CHGD TO CALHOUN COUNTY) ALABAMA ON THE 1840/50 CENSUS RECORD. HE WAS MARRIED TO A NANCY WHO MUST HAVE DIED, BECAUSE HE MARRIED NANCY JANE BRADLEY IN CHAMBERS COUNTY4-26-1854. THEY THEN SHOW UP ON THE 1860/70 CENSUS IN JOHNSON CO, AR. I LOSE TRACK OF NANCY AFT THAT SINCE JAMES L. DIED IN 1876/ THEY HAD LUCY JANE WRIGHT BORN 1855 AND FRANKLINA M. BORN 1860. I WOULD LIKE TO FIND NANCY ALSO SINCE I BELIVE SHE IS THE SISTER TO MY CORNELIUS C. BRADLEY. I WOULD BE HAPPY TO SWAP ANY INFO I HAVE. THANKS BECKY

According to my records for Wright Cemetery, Mrs. James L. Wright was the first person buried there. Her grave is not marked, as was very common in those times. I show James's marker saying that he was born January 17, 1795, and that he died March 8, 1876. I question the 1795 birth year since his ages on the censuses don't back that year.

Becky, I have been researching James L Wright but haven't found any new info in a long time. I have pics of the tombstones in Wright Cem in AR. Don't know of any Bible or any other records in Ar. I did not know of the marriage to Nancy Bradley, but had noticed the age difference in wives on the census. Do you know if the Wright's ever lived in TN? I can't seem to find much on them. The Logan Co History says son John stayed in AL but I can't find him for sure. I think I found son William.

LINDA: I DON'T SHOW THEM IN TENN BUT COULD HAVE COME THRU ON THE WAY TO AL. NONE OF THE CHILDREN SHOWN ON THE 1850 CENSUS ARE BORN IN TN BUT I BELIEVE THERE ARE 2 OTHER CHILDREN PROB ALREADY MARRIED. I'VE COPIED WHAT I HAVE ON THE BADGET (NANCY BADGET WRIGHT) THAT MIGHT BE HER FOLKS ESTATE PAPERS AND SOME OF THE LAND RECORDS AND CENSUS/FAMILY GROUP SHEETS I WORKED UP. IF YOU'LL EMAIL ME AND LET ME KNOW YOUR ADDRESS I'LL SEND TO YOU. WHERE IN ALABAMA DID JOHN STAY?? AND WHERE DID YOU FIND WILLIAM? I'M WONDERING IF JAMES L. 2 CHILDREN BY THE 2ND NANCY MAY HAVE WENT TO LIVE WITH THEM. DO YOU HAVE ACCESS TO THE ARK MGS TO SEE IF THERE IS A MARRIAGE FOR THEM?? I'LL CHECK PROBATE IN AL THUR OR FRI FOR LAND PUR/SALE FOR JAMES L. IN BENTON/CALHOUN COUNTY. MAYBE SOME CLUES THERE?? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.
