Thanks again, Rayedene, for very helpful information. In the Richardson family in the 1870 Bowie census there is a daughter "L" b. 1873 in TN. Is she 'Ida'? But the census enumerator clearly wrote 'L'. Fronie is in 1920 Jackson LR census as Fronie Lawrey and 1930 Wallace LR census as F.C. Lowery.

Re John L. Richardson: He must have remarried after Amanda's death in 1902. There's a "John Richison" in the 1910 census, wife is Belle, 52, born in Alabama. John L is said to be 18, b. TN, but an alternate birth date of 1938 is given. Wife Belle seems to be 'Arabella Tutt', found in 1870 precinct 5 Bowie TX census, and as 'Arbella Tutt' in the 1880 precinct 4 Bowie TX precinct (John L was precinct 3 in 1880), and as 'R B Tutt' in the 1900 Little River, LR census. After JL dies 1917, Belle is in 1920 Jeff Davis, LR census (Dell Richardson) living with daughter Lou Tutt (now Lou Johnson). Lou Tutt married Carroll Finley Johnson in 1901. CF Johnson b.1841 Fayette, Illinois, lived 1870's and 1880's in South Fork, Montgomery AR, and moved to LR sometime before 1900. His first wife was Sarah Ellen Gardener, and from that marriage I find three or possibly four of his children in LR around 1900. One is Benjamin D. Johnson, b. 1861 Illinois, who homesteaded next to Samuel M. Johnson at the time Samuel was married to Ida Richardson, and that seems to bring this story full circle, doesn't it.

I don't find BD Johnson in any census records, but have a copy of BD Johnson's homestead papers (1887-1894) and he says he has a wife and children - don't know who they were. BD was witness along with JA Mauldin, BG Cartwright, and JJ Trammell for Samuel M's homestead application(1888-1895). There are some warranty deed documents btw. BD and Mary E. Weatherly 1898, after BD married Bonnie Weatherly in 1897, and there's a 1900 Quitclaim deed with Joseph A Mauldin as Grantee. Coincidence that BD and SM are both named Johnson, or a family connection?

Re. Samuel Johnson and Luella: Samuel's full name was Samuel Merrit Johnson. The marriage license for S M Johnson and L E Dore 1899 Bowie revealed no new information about names or families. Luella's first name on several land documents is Lucresie (Lucresia, Lucretia)and middle initial is "E". Waiting for some death certificates to show up and hopefully learn more. Rayedene, you'be been so helpful. Franklin
