You bet! Do you have any information on their parents? My father, Harvey (Bill) was killed several months before I was born and I never knew his side of the family at all. I don't think they liked my mom very much, because it was a second marriage for him and he had 2 children already.

I think he was married to Ruby M. Glover. I think he was the brother of Harvey Grey Glover, who was my father.

I am researching in this same area: in 1870-80 census, I find Elizzie and Dudley Taylor, but I cannot trace them anywhere after this...I believe I have the right Eliza Jane (Elizzie), though the children's names listed are not Fannie (1868) and Maranda/Merondia/Mirandy (1866).....can anyone assist with this? Thanks for the reply. Yes, I had seen the 1870 census and have been trying to figure out who everyone was who is listed there. Several families from Fairfield Co. SC appear to have moved to that area of Arkansas. The Robinson family is extremely difficult to figure out. But I'm trying!

John W. Robinson, d. 1893, nephew Robert C. Martin

Looking for information about the individuals listed in the following obit. It was in a newspaper in Fairfield Co, SC dated July 12, 1893.

"Mr. John W. Robinson died at the home of his nephew Mr. R. C. Martin, in Star City, Arkansas on May 14, 1893, of swamp fever at 71. He was born in Fairfield County, S.C. on December 21, 1822. He moved to Lincoln County, Arkansas after the war. He was a Confederate Veteran, was twice married and leaves only one son."

I believe R. C. Martin was Robert and that John Robinson's son was named Thomas. In 1880 John, wife Martha, and Thomas J. (age 20) were in Lone Pine.

I know it's been a few years since you posted this, but here it is anyway.
I have the following on Lufie (based mostly on census and cemetery records.
Parents were Francis G. Needham b.3 November 1850, d. 17 May 1910 and Elizabeth Permelia (surname unknown unless its Permelia) b 11 March 1855 in Georgia, d. 7 December 1939. Both are buried in the Hickory Grove Cemetery, Palmyra, Lincoln County, AR. Francis and Elizabeth were married about 1874.

Lufie A. Needham married Andrew J Boyd about 1905. Andrew b. 16 Sept 1878 in AR, d.15 Nov 1945, was the son of Robert Alexander Boyd and Caroline Zella "Callie" Boyd. Andrew and Lufie are buried also buried at Hickory Grove Cemetery.

In the 1930 census Ira is living in his father's household and states he is 29 years old, being 18 years old at his first marriage and he is a widower. No children are listed in this household for him.

Annie (Ann) Spears married Joe Nemith. I have not located them in any census.

William Thomas Ratterree and Hattie Belle Ratterree are brother and sister. They are the children of John Leroy Ratterree and Nancy Jane Harrison.

Annie (Ann) Spears married Joe Nemith. I have not been successful in finding the Spears in the 1900 Census. In the 1910 Lincoln Co., Arkansas, Cane Creek Twp. George and Sallie are listed with children, daughter Mittie? (handwriting is hard to read) son Henry, son Miles, son Carl and daughter Alma. Sallie states she is the mother of 9 children with 6 living. So there is another daughter or son that is not living in their household in 1910. I have not found Sallie in the 1920 or 1930 Census.

Sallie Ann Butler Spears obituary has her survivors as : son, Henry W. Spears of Pine Bluff; five daughters, Mrs. Danny Dietrich of Piketon, Ohio, Mrs. Ann Nemith of Newark, N. J., Mrs. Homer Williamson of Camden, Mrs. B. O. Wheeler of St. Louis and Mrs. Helen Ratterree of Pine Bluff.

Henry Washington Spears obituary has his survivors as: four sisters, Mrs. Dan L. Dietrich of Pine Bluff, Mrs. Helen Ratterree of Pine Bluff, Mrs. Joe Nemith and Mrs. Homer Williams, both of Camden.

I don’t know if Homer’s surname is Williamson or Williams.

You're probably also aware of the mistakes in the surnames for Milton and William which should be Heflin rather than Ricketts.

James Milton Heflin and Zemma Hopkins were siblings of my grandparents, William Thomas Hopkins and Minnie Heflin. What information are you interested in? I have quite a bit of info on both the Heflin's and Hopkins' and I'll be happy to help however I can.

Am particularly interested in what, if any, relation they were to Jonathan Jones.

There are a couple of land transactions between the Neels and Jonathan Jones in Jefferson County in the 1870s, and I am trying to determine the exact relationship between the parties.

One of the tracts of land involved was in Lincoln County, close to Star City.

I wish I could help you with this, I know how important help can be. Unless the family you are looking for are maybe cousins of my great-great-grandfather Monroe Roberts, who lived in Union, Greene County, Arkansas most of his life and is buried there in Gainsville Cemetery I can't verify that any of the names you listed are members of my family. I know that Monroe Roberts married a Mary Wilson from family Bible records and remained married to her for many years. However I do not know who his siblings where, we have not been able to trace that part of his history. The census records did not list other members of the family until 1850 and we do not know where he lived prior to marrying Mary Wilson. He said he was born in Mississippi or Tennessee, my Dad said as far as he knew his great-grandfather was born in Wales. I had hoped to get to Greene County this past summer but my husband died suddenly in April and that left me unable to go.
Sorry I can't help anymore than this.

Ark. Gazette Feb. 12, 1913, Star City, Feb. 11 - Vaughn, the 12 year-old-son of J. H. Owen of Palmyra, accidentally shot and killed his 14 year-old cousin, Vance Owen, while the two boys were hunting near Palmyra Saturday. Both barrels of the boy's shotgun were discharged simultaneously. Both charges struck the victim, tearing away one side of his head and causing instant death.

Passed away January 4, 2007 at the age of 76 in Sacramento, CA. Born August 11, 1930 in Star City, AR to Albert Grady Glover and Ruby May Green. She is survived by her loving husband Kenneth Schmidt of 26 years, son Paul Jones of Georgia, step daughters Kenene of Southern California and Kema of Denmark, also 3 brothers, Wilbur, Dallas, TX; Buell, Benton, AR; and Walter (WT), Benton, AR; and sister, Marilyn, Benton, AR. She was employed by the Oakland Tribune for 25 years. A Memorial Service will be held Monday January 15, 2007 at 2pm at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger 5401 Folsom Blvd. Sacramento, CA. She will be greatly missed.

I was looking up the surname Grilli when I ran across this obit. I am married to Maxine's grandson, Michael. David was his older brother. I am currently trying to do Michael's family tree, but keep getting stuck. I knew Maxine very well and there was a mistake in the obit. Where it lists her brothers, Joe Lee was listed twice. GRADY, Ark., Feb. 12- G.W. Willey, 69 years old,
prominent planter of Lincoln county, was shot
and killed late Sunday by W.H. Taylor, 40 years

placed in jail at Star City. A quarrel over a
small sum of money caused the shooting, it was

From Star City go southwest on Hwy. 11 about 2 or 3 miles. Turn right on a gravel road and go about a half mile or a little more and Jones Cemetery is on your right behind some trees. It is not visible from the road. It looks like you will be turning into someone's front yard, but go on past the house and the cemetery is a short distance beyond. I have several relatives buried here, including GGgrandparents. It's an older cemetery, but still being used. I was there this June. Good luck.

Can anyone please help me find where Eppy White Hellums (1812-1867) is buried? She owned 120 acres a couple of miles south of Star City, just across the highway from where the old fire tower used to be (intersection of hwys. 425 & 54). One of Eppy's sons, Jacob P. Hellums (1846-1900), is buried at Heflin Cemetery near Star City. Another son, James W. Hellums (1835-1909), is supposed to be buried at Bellwood Cemetery in Pine Bluff, but I did not find his name on a listing of people buried at Bellwood. Anyone have a idea where to look for a death record for William Thomas Davidson. He died around 1917 in Lincoln County. He was buried in Round Lake Cemetery, which was washed away by a flood. His wife is also buried there. Matilda Winkles Davidson. She died around 1907. William married Florence Mauk in 1913 after the death of his first wife. Looking for information on Florence also.

Has anyone ever heard of the town of Greely that existed in 1890. Perhaps on the border of Lincoln and Jefferson Counties. We have a marriage record that has him from Greely in Lincoln County and her from Greely in Jefferson County.

I am looking for the family of the Adam "Abe" Gaddy family.
Adam Gaddy is my grandfather-I am the daughter of Ruthie Gaddy Parker Smith-- which is one of his daughter. My mother- mother was name Martha Salley Gaddy-they have another daughter by the name Gussie Gaddy Chalk-Their parents died when they were very young- It states as following:

Information on Ira B. Owen

I am looking for information about Ira B. Owen and his wives. Ira was my grandfather. He was born Dec 27, 1900 in Lincoln County, Arkansas and passed on Dec 7, 1994 in Garland County, Arkansas. He first married Beulah Veasey (or Veazey) in 1920, then Eva Mae Frank in 1921. And finally the married my grandmother, Edna McCaskill, in 1935. I would like more info on Beulah and Eva. What happened to the marriages, where there any children, etc?
If you could help, I would appreciate the information.
