What I have is a written document, done by my great great grandmother in the 1930's. Mary Alice Smith was Martha's only surviving child and died in 1941. Mt great granddad, her oldest son lived to be 98, dying in 1985. I heard this first from him when I was in my teens and later found the hand written "family tree" that his mother made.

It has been passed down to us the our David Hiram Haynes was a first generation American from London, England. My grandmother told me that in WW2, when my granddad was in England in the USAAF, he had names of Haynes relatives and may have met them. unfortunately, he died in 1971, when I was six years old and I have not been able to find any notes or addresses or names.

I did find this letter from 1945 where he tells about it, http://bruce-white.us/library/horace_ww2/11Mar1945.pdf .

BTW, my family website is http://bruce-white.us
