My greatgrandmother Kate Robertson Penn was a daughter of William Jefferson Robertson 1862-1940 of Lawrence Lawrence County had Native American blood. Her greatgrand father was Asa Robertson 1779-1888 of VA,KY,TN & Tippah County MS. It is said that he had 18 living children when he died at age 99. Asa's wife Nancy Ann Chisom is said to half blood. I beleive some of their children also married breeds one being known as Adika, Editha and final Edith Champion. There are many Robertsons in early Arkansaw, Indian Territory and on removal and reservation roles. I suspect they were Creek or Cherokee. I have searched to learn more and some day hope see more relevant postings.
