Jasper Rudolph (Dock) Chastain was my great uncle. He, my gandmother, brother Thomas and sisters Maude and Willie came to Arkansas from Georgia with their mother Eugenia in 1892. His mother married Smith H McMillan and had a daughter and son, Emma and Servedtus. One of Emma's daughters is living in El Dorado, Arkansas.

I have the Chastain family back to 1663 with Pierre and Anne of Charost, France.

The 1920 U.S Census has the spelling "Chstan" and the 1930 has "Chastine". The various spellings make research very difficult.

I think Dock's daughter is still living, but have not had contact with her in many years. My cousin is trying to locate her and any other of Dock's grandchildren.
