Classification: Query
Surnames: Massey, Lindsey, Bishop
I don't think I have any of them but these I do have in my records.
Alice Massey b. 1883-1948 married Leslie Lindsey in 1912. She is buried at Shiloh with her young child.
Leslie was the son of Robert Wilks and Callie (Vaugh) Lindsey
Mark Lindsey signed the Civil War Pension application of my GGGfather brother in Van Buren Ark. The Lindsey family had lived closed to my Massey family in Monroe County Mississippi before and during the Civil War.
In Van Buren Co. Ark. one of my gggf brother’s children Fronia married Bill Lindsey in 1872.
I have a Charles Edward Bishop who married Evie Elizabeth Lindsey. She was born about 1878. The parents of Evie Lindsey were John Thomas Lindsey and Matilda Jane Martin.
Land records at Columbia County, Ark. show that C. D. Massey, a brother to my great grand father sold land to Robert A. Lindsey on Nov. 12, 1889.
I even have a Joan Lindsey who married by father’s first cousin. Her husband was born in 1927 and she is still alive. They lived near Gilmer, Texas in east Texas, not far from Longview.
I also have an E. R. Lindsey, who was private in the 24th Arkansas Inf. During the Civil war with some of my kin.
I think this is the same cemetary but I don't know for sure.
I hope some of this helps. Good Luck Martey
