"Hello, my name is Joyce Mae Martin Koon. Solomon P. Martin was my great-grandfather. I have just recently completed a Martin genealogy. We were recently in Arkansas and we drove in the approximate vicinity of where the "Blood Rock" was located. Can you tell me how you were related to Solomon P. Martin?"
Sol's oldest brother, John Miller Martin, was my ggg-grandfather.
John Miller Martin

-> Marion Wesley Martin

-> Henry James Martin

I too recently drove through the area (although I never found Blood Rock itself). I visited Sol's grave atop Redlick Mt., and found a tiny crossroads on its slopes once known as Martin Springs (still so marked on Google Maps). While there, I flagged down a local and inquired about Martin Springs. He waved his hand about us and told me that he reckoned we were there. Much of the nearby land is still owned by Martins, and he pointed out a nearby house built where the old Martin homestead once stood before burning down many years ago.
