I have only the children of Mark Hill (1790-1878), and have not followed any of these lines. However,

- a book at the Arkansas History Com. in Little Rock prepared in 1978 by Clem J. Hill, Oklahoma City, OK follows his family line. He places Mark Hill's birth in Wake Co., NC, about 1790.

- the same book lists 10 children, all born in Tennessee, one with county not noted, the others show Perry County, period 1814 - 1832. It does not mention a James or James B.

- Tax records have Mark in Johnson County very early, and local histories show him arriving from Tennessee. This was likely due to the several land grants he received from War of 1812 service.

- Research I have done on another project is consistent in general with Mr. Hill's book.

- the chart I copied from this book have Mark being son of William and Elizabeth (Cope) Hill;
William son of Sion and Sarah (?) Hill

Sion of Robert and Tabitha (Brown) Hill (Halifax Co VA)

Robert son of Sion Sr. and Elizabeth (Green Spiltimber) Hill (VA)

Sion Sr. son of Robert Sr. and Mary (Webb) Hill (England - VA)

Mark Hill's children (from the book, a Johnson Co. history, and Census rolls):

Micajah A (m; b.abt 1814)
Eliza Jane (f; b. abt 1815-1816)
Millie (f; b. abt 1816-1817)
Kimbrel Claude (m; b. abt 1818)
Sion (m; b. abt 1819)
John F. (m; b. abt 1820)
Joseph (m; b. abt 1822)
Marcus (m; b. abt 1826)
Mary Jane (f)
Margaret Ann (f)

So, I can not point out your folks, but Alabama is not consistent with this family's migration as reported. However, it seems clear from all the Jr. and Sr. tags that there were male siblings in all of these generations which the book does not mention.

There is still hope - looking back to NC families and working forward to see if any went to Alabama would be a good tactic.
