Jane, thanks for your response. My great-great grandfather was Henry Graves, b. 1805. His brother was named John W. Graves, b. 1804. We know that John left West TN and went to MS according to family story. DNA testing shows that they are from the same family. However, we don't know for certain that their father was William Graves who m. Mary Hester in 1798 in Granville Co. NC. There was enough circumstantial evidence, including DNA, that Ken Graves added what I had written on John W. to Gen. 169. There was a William and Mary Graves in TN by 1830. William was b. in Virginia. He evidently died between 1830 and 1840, because he was not listed on the 1840 Census. I was hoping that someone in John W. Graves' family might have info on who his father was. And, YES, I would just love to have a picture of Martha Rose Dorsey. Contact me a jonesjw@bellsouth.net. Joyce
