I'm looking to share information about John Risener and wife, Mary, who were in Jackson County between 1837 and 1846. (Some spell it Risner, but official documents spell it Risener.) John paid taxes there in 1837 and 1838, and we find his land patent in 1839. He sold his land to his neighbor, Coleman Slayden, in 1846, and wife Mary reliquished her dower rights. Although all of the Risener's neighbors showed up on the 1840 census, they did not. Quite a few of their children married in Jackson County, even after John had sold his land. _Any_ clue to these folks would mean so much! Thanks!!!
