Re: Andrew Wells Slayden
Scott, Your Slayden family moved around alot. I found Andrew W. age 4 in the
1880 census listed as the brother in law of Newburn McClain and his wife
Elizabeth. They are in Independence Co., Black River Twsp., Arkansas. I could
not find anything on Lou but my guess is that they were married in Independence
or Lawrence County as he registered for the WW I draft in Independence Co.
stating he and his wife Lou lived in Sulpher Rock, Arkansas. He also apparently
had a brother named James who is in the McClain household in 1880. I believe
that Elizabeth may be the sister to his father and if so, according to what I
have located, The parents of James and Andrew would be Wesley William Slayden
and Adaline F.____. Hope this gives you a clue you don't
already have.
