I wanted to post information on our upcoming reunion. I will write the invite that our president, Doyle Ingram wrote and then will add a comment or two.
The 35th Annual Reunion of the Langston Family and Kinsmen Organization (once known as The Samuel Bennett Langston Organization) will be held at the United Methodist Community Church in Wild Cherry, Arkansas on Saturday, June 23rd, 2012 starting at 9:00 a.m.
There will be a Methodist Church sign, marking the turn, on the left side of Hwy. 223 just past the Izard/Fulton County line when traveling north from Pineville, Arkansas. All who are related, married to a relative or just think they would like to be a relative if they could, please mark your calendars and plan now to attend.
The building will be open by 9:00 a.m. with a short business meeting around 10:15 a.m. All officers, board members, and everyone interested in keeping our organization together will need to attend. Those who attend will have the opportunity to vote on leaders they wish to have in the year ahead as well s other important issues.
Following the business meeting, a potluck lunch will be enjoyed. There always seems to be plenty of good food for everyone; so please bring a favorite dish to share with others. During and after the lunch is a great time for fellowship and gathering and sharing genealogical information.

One of the matters we will be discussing at our meeting is the availability of our newsletters on dvd, we had a member that entered all the newsletters from the first one in 1978 through October 2011. We will have them at the reunion this year, they will be available to purchase after the business meeting. We will be deciding during the meeting what price to set for them. It is a 3 disc set, there is an article Index and also a Name Index for each individual DVD. The Newsletters are in .pdf format, so that they can be printed. The index doesn’t automatically take you to the search name, but will tell you where it is located. I have not had time to get aquainted with all the features, but I believe these to be a wonderful asset to our Langston resources. Again, this will be one of the issues we will be deciding on this year, the membership will decide the price we set, and will also be the first to buy them.
