Can someone check the 1870 Independence Co Census for the Curtis' that maybe in Indpendence Co. left after the Civil War.
1860 I found what I beleive to be my CURTIS family in Liberty Twp.. I had heard the father was killed during the War & that the family moved to IL., where the mother died a yr. or two later.
Names that I had from newpaper obit. in 1917 were:
Angeline Jane, b. 23 Sept. 1857, Batesville, AR.,
Green, [who then lived in Hamilton, IL.]
George, [lived in Hamilton, IL.]
William, [who lived in Pleasant Plains, AR.]
& a sister Mrs. ? CAMPBELL.
Can anyone Help?
