Does anyone have any info on who Peter F. Johnson's parents and siblings were. I know he came from Middle Tennessee and was in Fenter township before 1840. He was my grandfather, Henry Lee David Sloan's grandfather. His other grandfather was Rankin Sloan who also lived in Fenter township. In the 1850 census, Rankin was living with a Martha Woodward and her son, Pennina Woodward, but by the 1860 census, he was married to my gg-grandmother, Sarah Kelley.I would like to know who their parents were also. Thank, Rebecca Mull

POW/MIA Korean War, Hot Spring Co. WILLIAMS

I am searching for the family of a soldier who was killed in the Korea War. When he entered service he gave Malvern, Hot Spring County, Arkansas as his home of record.

Soldier: ROBERT ALLEN WILLIAMS
Born:July 20, 1926
Date of loss: October 1, 1952

When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located. There are 17 families in Arkansas that have not been located. There is one family from Hot Spring County that has not been located.

When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (76 years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find this family. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.

I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family.

Harold Davis
40th Infantry Division
Korea ’52-‘53
910-791-2333
hgdavis@bellsouth.net
The Rev W.G. Hilton performed the marriage ceremony for my Great Grandparents Rev. W.A. Fitzgerald of Point Cedar and Louise Jane Dillard of Amity, AR. The ceremony took place on Sept. 11, 1879. I think the ceremony may have been at the old Westlyan Chapel Methodist Church at Point Cedar but I have no real evidence of that. I'm trying to trace Rev. W.G. Hilton in hopes that I can learn at which church he may have been a minister. I know that my Great Grandmother Louisa may have attended the old Bethel Baptist Church near Glenwood, AR but one of her sisters and a brother (I think) were members of the Wesleyan Chapel Methodist Church. She met W.A. Fitzgerald when she attended church with her sister in 1878 or 79.
I appreciate any information to lead me to the identification of Rev. Hilton and his church.

I find it amazing to do family history, researching surnames, to realize that WOW...I can link it back hundreds of years ago. Where do you stop? And thet amount of family you can conjure up makes your head spin...lol Of course, I have others to thank that tread that ground before me...that made it easier. So..Thank you for all your hard work.

I want to share some family history with you because I am searching for family, I know there are many unknown cousins out there...and hope this brings some forward.

Sooooo....

One lineage I can trace back to 1500's, others to the early 1600's....but where do you stop?

My grandmother was a Friddle, she (Fay) married Ollie Douskurt. Well, Ollie's line is a brick wall on his fathers side, but his mothers side is very interesting. His mother was Jo Lee Elmore, whose mother is Emma Cooper.

Emma Married b. 1862 Fountain B. Elmore b. 1857 who is the son of George W. Elmore and Bertina Tyler.

Emma was born to Alexander Cooper b. 1830 and Barbara Clift b.1830

Barbara was born to William Clift b. 1803 and Mary Ann Winters b. ?

William was born to Joseph Clift 3rd. b. 1780 and Sarah Ann Guerin b. 1785 Sarah is the daughter of Hiram J. Guerin b. ? and Susannah Allred b. 1805, Susannah was born to John Allred b. 1749 and Lille Ann Unknown. b. ?

Joseph Clift 3rd, born to Joseph Clift 2nd b.1742 and Mary Edgele who was born to James Edgele b. abt. 1724 and Mary ?

Joseph Clift 2nd was born to Joseph Clift b. 1715 and Mary Noble b. ? who was born to Mark Noble b.? and Elizabeth Cooper b. ?

Who was born to William Clift b. 1667 and Lydia Wills. b. 1676

So if you share this line, please contact me, I'll share what information I have. What I'd really like is Family Stories....

There is also http://www.allredfamily.org/index.htm if you are a descendant of any of the named above you can join the ever growing roster of descendants. Last time I checked it up over 13,000....

Hello. I am a descendant of Frederick (b. 1794) and Sally (b. 1798) Buck of Pitt Co. North Carolina. They were in Shelby Co. Tenn. in the 1850 census.
With the exception of their youngest child, Sarah who was born in 1839, their other children were all born in North Carolina.
I am the gg grandchild of Emily Buck Bayne (b. 1819?-June 30, 1900)
who moved to central Arkansas in 1869.
I have found her sister Melvina Buck Turner and her children in the Lonoke Cemetery along with Emily and her family.
I believe it is possible that the little sister Sarah Buck married first a Terry and then a J. D. Armstrong, who was a Civil War veteran. He is buried at Bismark, but I do not know about her.
There was a Hosea Buck who I believe to be their brother who lived on the Pulaski County Line. His son Hosea Jr. went to Texas, came back when he was dying in 1897, and returned to Barstow, Texas for burial.
There were also a whole bunch in the north end of Lonoke County in the late 1800's.
I believe all the bunch was related as they listed North Carolina or Tennessee as places of birth.
If anyone said North Carolina, it was Pitt County which had more people with the surname of Buck than you could imagine.
If you connect, I would love to hear from you.
Linda
Tucker Family in early to mid 1800s in Arkansas?

I am looking for a John, Thomas or possibly Alfred TUCKER that might have been living in Arkansas before 1845. The Tucker I am looking for might have married an Elizabeth Badeau from LA or MS. At one time we thought we had them connected to Jane Humphry, but that is not correct.
John Jefferson Tucker was born in 1845 in McComb, MS, the son of the above query.J.J. Tucker married (in 1875) Anneta Whitcomb of Covington St. Tam., LA. JJ. and Anetta named one of their sons, Thomas Brinsfield Tucker. There might be a Brinsfield connection. We are having a devil of a time finding out about his parentage. Family lore is very confusing and contridictory!
HELP, HELP, HELP!
Thanks,
Jana Rooke
He died during the civil war (unknown where, how, possbly at home, I have medical discharge info). His wife died of grief per a family bible. Their son, William C. John was born 1795 in NC, died 1865 in Hot Spring County. Levi was born 1826-1830 (Lincoln County TN ??), and died 20 Sep 1904. Levi was the husband of Nancy Powell Heard.
Can anyone verify this connection? Thanks.

Aaron Benedict and Cordelia Hill were married in Miami County, Indiana, in August, 1844. Rumor has it that they both died in Hot Spring, Arkansas, and that they are buried in Fairplay Cemetery. My research has led me to believe Fairplay Cem. is in Saline County. Is there also a Fairplay Cemetery in Hot Spring Co.? Does anyone have info on Aaron and Cordelia Benedict's dates of death.

Jesse and Mary Ann Hughes

Jesse and Mary Ann Hughes (or Hughs) moved to Hot Spring County before 1844 because their daughter Susan Elizabeth was born there. They could have moved from Tennessee because their second son was born there. Their first son was born in Mississippi. Jesse was born in North Carolina in 1813. Mary Ann was born in Alabama. Jesse died before 1860 because Mary Ann was a widow by then. Susan Elizabeth married William A. Pond in 1860. Jesse and Mary Ann had 6 sons, most of who could have fought in the Civil War. We are anxious to find more about this family. My email is spsmithson829@hotmail.com. Thank you for any help you may give.
