When you search the 1830 Census on Ancestry.com for Edward Akin in Arkansas, you get 5 records, but none are for the actual census. Three are for Lawrence County, but two are for Hot Spring. The Hot Spring County records are dated 1838 & 1839. I have evidence to believe that they refer to Tax Records. My question is: how does one go about researching Tax Records in Hot Spring County, AR.? The LDS has microfilm for tax records but seemingly only for later years. Any help would be appreciated.
