In reference to William Reed and the 1850 census: In addition to Madison and Prudence Moren, Sarah J. Hudgins, age 16, was also living in his household that year. I believe she is the daughter of Ambrose Hudgins (If that is correct, I'm not sure why she was living in the Reed household, as Ambrose Hudgins was still alive and living in Monroe Twp. of Sevier County). In 1854 Sarah Jane Hudgins married Romulus Sanders in Hempstead (the older brother of my direct ancestor, George W. Sanders). The 1860 census shows Romulus and Sarah in Franklin Twp. of Sevier County, with a son William, age 3 and daughter Sarah, 9 months of age. There is someone named Sarah "Morning," age 20, living in their household, but I believe her name is actually Sarah Moren.
Do you know if the Hudgins family was related to the Reeds and Morens? I am trying to learn what became of Sarah J. Hudgins Sanders and her children after her husband Romulus died during the Civil War (1862).
