We have an old abstract of title on property we once owned on HWY 4 east of Hope. The first entry is dated 1853, when the United States granted to the State of Arkansas a swath of land 30 miles wide upon which to build a railroad. Of course, the railroad sold most of this land off through the years. Some of the names of buyers include: A. W. & Elizabeth Hamilton, F.M. Gammill, J. J. & H. C. Byers, J. F. Gammill, Jennie Hanegan, James L. & Eliza White (includes James' will), J. R. Kennedy, Loula Bixby, Ollie & Flora Legrand, Charles Fox, Floyd Fuller. The place was known as 'the Fuller farm' when my husband purchased it.
Rather than just tossing it, I thought maybe someone might recognize a name and glean a little info about their kinfolks from it...it is pretty interesting even if you don't know the people.
So, if anyone wants it, I will gladly mail it to you, or let me know where it might benefit the most people.
