My 3rd Great Grandfather was Joseph Davis, born in Virginia about 1806, at some time he moved to Kentucky and married Mathilda, last name unknown. had one daughter named Sarah born about 1850, then moved to St. Louis Missouri.
what I do have is:
1870 Bonhomme, St. Louis census

Mathilda Davis 39 born Ky
Sarah Davis 20 born Ky
Jennie Davis 14 born Mo
George Davis 10 born Mo
Elvira Davis 9 born Mo
Isabella Davis 6 born Mo
Angelina Davis 2 born Mo
I did find Barren county Ky 1850 census with
Joseph Davis 35 b. unknown
Mary Davis 21 b. Ky
Sarah Davis 1 b. Ky
but do not know if this is same family or not.
My line is from daughter Eugenia (Jennie) who lived her life in St. Louis area, married Louis Keys from Tennessee.
Romantic story is Grandpa Keys was traveling by train in the 1870's, from Tennessee to unknown destination, the new tracks had just been completed, and railroad line opened up. He saw Jennie out his window and "fell immediately in love with her" he got off of the train, introduced himself, began courting her and married her.
Jennie Keys died before 1900, I believe in St. Louis MO. as Louis and children are found in Peach Orchard in that census of Clay County. children: Maude,Ada, Molly, Wesley, George Keys.,
daughter" Lou" Keys married to Abe Moore and living in Deleplaine, Greene county. Later married John Hummer.
