Does anyone have information on a William R(ufus) Brown, born abt 1845 in Alabama? Have found information that he might have died in 1890 somewhere in Grant County, Arkansas. He married Susan (Davis) Anderson 12 Mar 1873 in Jackson County, Alabama. Susan had two children, James & Nancy, when she married William. William & Susan had Dee Barnett, Violet, & Martin G.

Would love to know where William & Susan are buried and if any obits exit for them. (There's a dispute among family members as to who William's parents were.)

My grandmother had Brown cousins down in the Cleveland/Jefferson County area. Jefferson connects to Grant and I think Cleveland is just south of Jefferson.
I have pretty well told you all that I know except that they were there.
Somewhere in all those pictures I inherited are some well dressed Brown cousins.
That whole area you are speaking of was settled heavily after the Civil War by people who had come out of Georgia and Alabama. I say that because some of my kin were there.
You may want to try reading the cemeteries that may have been posted on line already-just do not know for sure about that.
Where I am, all of the cemetery stuff is available and in books as well as on line, for the most part.
Per chance you are interested in a researcher, I can suggest a good one. She will go to the history commission in Little Rock and search.

Mary Lynn (my cousin) who posted teh family tree, has a lot more information and we would all love to exchange information.

I was not aware that Susan David (Anderson) had been married before she married William Rufus Brown.
1900 Census records show she had 8 children and that 7 were alive at that time.

Susan remarried after William Rufus Brown died. (I understand he died of Civil War wounds, but years after the war was over). Her third husband was John Walker of Grant Co. Arkansas. After he died, her name was Susan McBride, but I don't know the first name of her fourth husband.
