Oak Bend Cemetery is being destroyed

In Ozark area, AR, the Oak Bend Cemetery is being dug up and the land readied for a housing project. In this cemetery, there are graves for S. E. Miller and wife Elizabeth who was a St. Clair. Also, a 4-yr old son of the Miller couple.

I am posting this information for anyone that might have a connection to this Elizabeth St. Clair or her husband.

I believe this Elizabeth may have been related to my great grandfather G. W. St. Clair and would like to know that the headstone (even if it is broken) is preserved. If anyone has the means, I would like to see the stone placed in the G. W. St. Clair family cemetery which is near there rather than be destroyed.

Do you have the readings from the stones that you could post?

Unfortunately no I don't have the inscription. A cousin was passing thru the area and saw what was happening. He spoke with the person doing the work and they explained to him that it was considered an abandoned cemetery and would be plowed under to develop a housing complex. My cousin had been in the cemetery numerous times to view the St. Clair grave; I do not know if he has a copy of the words. When he calls again, I'll try to remember to ask. Data he gave me was: Elizabeth A. Miller; born 02-18-1839; died 1876. Elizabeth St. Clair married S. E. Miller S. E. Miller was son of Robert H. Miller. I do not know how Elizabeth is related to my great grandfather whose family cemetery is near Oak Bend cemetery in Ozark

My great grandfather, Jacob T. Taylor married Eliza St. Clair. Her birth date is August 19, 1846, Mill Creek Township. She had a maiden sister, Sarah (Sally) St. Clair, born October 27, 1828. Their father was William St. Clair. Family lore has it that the St. Clairs were buried in the Oak Bend cemetery, but when we checked for headstones, most had been broken or were illegible. I am looking for any history on William St. Clair and his family.
