Does anyone know the history of Beckett Mt.? It is said to be named for my gg-grandfather, Jackson Ross Beckett, who gave the land for a school/church house. According to NGIS, Beckette Mountain still exists by that name but I know the little s/c building has been gone for many years.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx!

Paralee was born 1845 in TN. If someone could look in AR census, I would really appreciate it. Shows she was a widow in 1880, that's all the info I have. Thanks again, Glenda

I have information that has led me to Faulkner County, Arkansas. My grandfarther Vines TURNER, a Baptist Circuit Rider and/or Preacher who was supposed to have had a church near Greebrier, AR. He and a wife named Lucy had 7 children, and I'm told He had another wife and they had several children, one of which was was my father John Oliver TURNER. I think I know the 1/2 brothers and sisters of his first wife but I know nothing about his mother or sibling of this marriage. A Margaret or Maggie TURNER, my father's 1/2 sister, came home to live with Vines & Lucy in Greenbrier after her husband Charles MILLER died in Ripley, TN , 1887(the birthplace of my father). Can you help, or can you put this in your AR queries under TURNER. My father died when I was 3 and it's so hard to pick up pieces.

Anthing you can will be appreciated and thank you,
Eugene H. Turner
I've been trying to track down Artress R Shadoway. It seems like most information in others trees are just copies of copies, i.e. born around 1836 and died around 1889.

Unfortunately for me, I'm a direct descendant but don't seem to know any more then anyone else. I've been picking my grandmother's brain the past couple of days and have been able to attach some information. However, I still don't have too much.

Everyone has said he was a doctor, but there is no one we know of who has seen a medical license for him. There's been stories that he may have changed his name at some point in his youth. That could explain why no one can find him on a census.

Does anyone out there have any specific information about his birth or death? Anyone have any light they can shed on this man?

Murder Faulkner County 1873. John Perry. B.B. Styles

Newspaper article: Little Rock Daily Republican, Nov 11, 1873, page 4

HOMICIDE AT FAULKNER
A COWARDLY ASSASSINATION

From Faulkner County (arkansas) we have particulars of the killing of a colored man named JERRY PERRY, which if the facts related to our reporter be true show one of the vilest and most dastardly assassinations which has happened in Arkansas for many a year.

From the information we could gather, it would appear that for some time back a white man named B.B. SYTLES and PERRY, his victim, had been planting cotton on shares. On Tuesday last Perry turned some calves belonging to him into Styles' cotton patch, which caused Styles to become very angry. Styles turned them out and told Perry that in case of repetition of the act he would kill him. In this threat Perry turned a deaf ear, and gave it but little attention, as his immediate renewal of the act plainly shows. He repeated it and a second time turned the calves into the lot. This being made known to Styles, he proceeded to his home, and loading his gun, crept down under a bank to within 20 years to where Perry was picking cotton, and firing, killed him almost instantly. The ball entered the region of the heart. Styles immediately saddled his horse and fled the country. Some colored men who were in the lot at the time of the murder gave the alarm, but ere assistance arrived the unfortunate man had breathed his last. Nothing has been heard from the assassin since.

Placed here as a genealogy service- no relation
I found the attached photo while going through my parents old photos. I have no idea who the people are but it was important enough to my father, Edgar Green, that he framed it and kept it for all these years. His Uncle Joe Green that lived in the Gleason comunity was an avid hunter and always kept a pack of hunting dogs, but I don't know if he is in the picture. If anyone can identify anyone in the picture please let me know. The picture was probably made in early 1920s.

I'm looking for an online listing for this cemetery. I have found one but it was a partial listing and did not have who I was looking for. I'm looking for the grave of Samual Houston Carter, I think he was buried in this cemetery and I was just wanting to see a listing of the cemetery to see if there are more family members buried with him. Thanks for any help with this.

Hi...I am looking for descendents of my GM Sarah Elizabeth Faulkner, married Wm. Bunn, Spaulding Co, Ga. Sarah's mother was Susan Jane Faulkner, Father, Thomas J. Faulkner, and Sister, Mary Jane Faulkner. I remember only the names that were in the now lost Bible. Sarah Elizabeth Faulkner Bunn died in 1929. I was born late in life to my father William Thomas Bunn, by a second marriage. He was 63 when I was born in 1938. My GM Sarah Elizabeth had three living sons, William Thomas Bunn, Charles H. Bunn, Robert Bunn.
I do see in the cemetary at Newnan that in the plot there is a Rosa Duncan Bunn. I think my GM had a daughter, also, still checking on that and that the daughter died early. I am trying to find out what my GGM Susan J Faulkner's maiden name might have been. Any help would be appreciated. Residence was in the Georgia, Coweta, Newnan Area later in life and the Spaulding area, and either Pike or Polk County
area.
Thanks
Kathy Bunn Schultz

The FULMER's family came from Germany, thru South Carolina, to Faulkner Co. Ark. Daniel FULMER b:1839 Sc, had my great grandfather William Jerry (JURD) FULMER b:1872 Ark. William's FULMER's wife was Nancy Minnie HAMM b:1876 in AL. She was the daugter of Augustus HAMM b:1844 and Mary TANNER b:1845 from Al. Augustus is found in the Faulkner Co. area from 1900-1920. I don't know if he died or if they divorced, and there is no record of any children that I know of. Does someone out there have any record or knowledge of this man? This is an intriguing mystery I've uncovered; perhaps they did have children and I have another line to uncover for relatives!

She died about 1888/89. Her children were in Jackson Co in 1896 when Mary married Thomas Sanders and lived with them in 1900. I am searching counties around Jackson in the hope someone might have a Hawkins family that might match her.
