As far as I can tell her father Benberry/Bembry/Bembra Buntyn died at a hospital in Little Rock during the Civil War... He was a blacksmith for the the Texas Cavalry. Apparently, he died of measles and so did two of his brothers. They were all in the same company.

Her mother Nancy's second husband was John W. Dickson of Pike County, Arkansas. Bemma seems to have married her stepfather's nephew, James Wade Dickson.

He was born on 12/17/1849 and died on 7/25/1927. There are two Macedonia Cemeteries in Miller County, Arkansas. The other one is near the Texas State Line.

The marriage record of John B. Shyrock and Rebecca Horton lists her as Miss Rebecca Horton. I don't believe she was married to a Flemming before she married John B. Shyrock.

I think she is the daughter of Dewitt or Durel Wilson Horton and Nancy C. Riddlespurger of Crawford Co., AR.

You will find an Ann Rogers in the Rolls but it's not our Ann. If Annie had indian blood it had to be from her father. Her mother was of european decent. I have tested the mtDNA since my mother was a direct female decendant to her. It came back haplogroup "V" which is western europe.

VAN BUREN. Ark., March 21.—(JP) —Funeral .services were conducted here Wednesday for' Amanda Ainsworth, 101 years old, who had eight other given name*. Mrs. Ainsworth died Tuesday. Her entire life had been spent within a radius of ten miles of her birthplace. - She was christened Amanda Melvina Melissa Elvira Margaret Jane Sarah Ann Susannah Boyd, but was known as "Dick" or "Mandy."
Her funeral was carried out according to her wishes. The body was taken to the cemetery in a wagon. She never had become used to automobiles. and objected to a motor-drawn vehicle for her funeral.
Survivors are three sons, a daughter, 16 grandchildren, 51 great-grand-children, and three great-great grand-children.

I am looking for a Pat or Patsy that was in the Haven of Rest about 1954 or 1955. She was totally blind and was about 90 years old. I visited with her when I was about 8 years old. She use to sew quilt squares by hand. She was introduced to me as Aunt Pat by my ex-sister in law Chris McLaughlin Bond. She said this is my "Aunt Pat". We visited for a long time and I would watch her sew those squares together and was totally blind. Sure wish I knew what her last name was. Thank you, Pat

on 14 Sep 1871, Pulaski County, Arkansas [not documented].

They were four known children (maybe a fifth) by this union:
"B.V.", 1847; "D.W.", 1848; "J.B.", 1849; "Jefferson", 1850?; "M.J"., 1851-1854? {I am looking for a note I'd written from a census stating having had 5 children. Prob., 1850.}

Seems our Mary Morris was the daughter of Elijah, aka:
Elzy MORRIS and Louisiana "Louisa" PERCEFULL.

Would love connecting to more Morris' researchers and descendents.

Johis is not a name, it is an abbreviation for the Latin name Johannes in the genitive case: Johannis. Names were frequently abbreviated in Latin manuscripts, and they were usually marked by a long stroke over the abbrevated name, but not always. In those cases, you just have to know!

Robert Whitaker married Anne Weir 12/01/1807 in Muhlenberg Co., KY. In 1813 they sold their 147 1/2 acres of land in Muhlenberg Co., KY. Anne supposedly died in 1853 and Robert died in Red River Co., TX in 1847.
That is all I know about them. I would love to know who the parents of Robert were. I am researching a different Whitaker family, but knowing his parents would help in the process of exclusion. Arkansas is a direct female decendant to my mother so through MTdna testing I found no native american "female" line. That does not rule out the male side. Many old lists show a Chief Joseph as Ann Combs father but no records in Kentucky where she is suposeably from.

In the book "History in Headstones" William H Boling is buried in the Ferguson Family Cemetery. Also 2 infants, one named Maudie, are buried there, too. Would someone who knows where this cemetery is take a photo and post on www.findagrave.com? Thank you.

No, these really are Shibley's. The Shibley's were prominent in the Van Buren area and my family is connected to them. I have photos of the headstones if anyone is interested.

I contacted the lady at the Crawford Co. Public LIbrary. She was extremely helpful - they have many indexes of burials at the library and she was able to confirm a burial for me. She also gave me the name and number of the historical society - Crawford County. They have published cemetery data.. I hope that helps. I would Google the historical society number for a current listing, this was about 2 years ago, things may have changed.
