I see that your question is from 2000. If you are still looking, I am the great-great grandson of Wiley Chastain and matilda Jane Rogers, by their eldest daughter Malinda Mabel Chastain, whose name you omitted. The "Boodie" you mention was actually named Boot. While she died before I was born, I often heard Aiunt Boot mentioned as she was a great favorite of my mother. I had always assumed that Boot was a nickname but I now know that it was her given name. Aunt Feenie was namedQuinie Tryphena, in honor of her grandfather QuinnChastain. I vaguely remember my great-great aunts Ida, Ora and Stella but Aunt Jenny I knew in later childhood as a sweet, sold-spoken lady who loved children. She married Clyde Acuff, uncle to the famous musician Roy Acuff. Uncle Clyde founded Red Ball Transfer and Storage, a very successful trucking company still in existence and also owned the Hotel Tulsa.
You can find the obituaries of Wiley A Chastain and "Grammy" Chastain online. Unfortunately, non one kows what became of some genealogies I remember seeing as a child. Grammy Chastain was the Grandaughter, I believe, of Col. Wm Peleg Rogers, the great Confederate hero (lots online). I inherited his silk smoking jacket, an amazing survivor, and my great-grandmother had inher possession his commission as a Confederate officer. I think my Uncle Bill wound up with it. I also have a cut glass pitcher which once belonged to Grammy Chastain's mother.
I suppose you and I are distant cousins. I could give you lots more information and some pictures if you get this and want to pursue.
Sincerely,
John Bradley
