My husband’s ancestor, George W McClure was born in VA 1797-1799. He had brothers named Andrew and John. His mother’s maiden name was Douglas. His father, whose first name I do not know, served in the War of 1812. Both parents were of Scottish descent.

George McClure married in KY to Elizabeth Hockensmith (Franklin County 1827) and later moved to IN, where he died in 1880.
