I and my neighbor saw the headstones in the uniontown cemetery placed there after some culprets had them laid aside on top of the ground after they destroyed the Bateman Cemetery. Noone knows who did the damage to Bateman Cemetery, but the Peace Decendants came to see their ancesters and found the headstones laying to the side of the cemetery but in good condition so they put them in the Uniontown cemetery for peace of mind that they would be ok.
With great help from my neighbor we were able to get the state to put up a sign. Progress is slow but we are in the progess of re-establishing the cemetery and cleaning it up.
