In response to the posting by mack71660- firstly Kingsland never had 500 citizens even when it was "booming" with a sawmill, hotel and many other businesses. In the 1950's it only had 337 population and remained that number on the sign for many years. It has much less than that today. As to Johnny Cash and the house he was born in. He was not born in the Crossroads area which is up above Kingsland. His father was a tenant farmer for his brother, Dave Cash, until later when he moved the family to the Delta area when Johnny was around 4 years of age. People in the area knew Johnny as "Shoo Do Cash" but don't ask me why. Part of Dave Cash land ajoined part of our farm.
Hope this helps a little. If you want to know exactly where Johnny was born, contact Helen Goggans there in Kingsland and she will be more than happy to tell you.

Blessings

I wanted to talk to you about your Flint connection as I have a lot of Stocker relatives in Flint. Please contact me at your earliest convenience. I can't seem to find too much information about them, where they were married, their parents, etc..... I can share what I have and maybe we can all find out more of the Jeremiah Brinkley line before they came to Arkansas.

(1882 cleveland county marriage records)with a son listed as 75 years old but I guess 1875 is when Joe R was born making him 25 years old. Joe must have been from his first marriage. Dicy and William had 2 sons Charley and Claud. I was mistaken, There were 2 William J harris. I had them mixed up.

Hi Diane,
I have the 1870 Drew Co and 1880 Lincoln Co. census with Shepard Tucker. I also believe that the Samuel WHITE living next door is the brother of Sarah "Sallie" WHITE TUCKER. In 1880 the last person entered on Shep Tuckers household was a Cinthia IRVIN listed mother n law age 72 (1808) Al TN TN Perhaps a 2nd marriage for Cinthia?

There was a short Bio written about Shep Tucker and Sarah White many years ago by two of their grandchildren. These grandchildren are young enough to have known Sarah.

"Our grandparents, Shep and Sarah (Sallie) Tucker, together with Uncle Sam White and his family and at least one other brother of Sarah White Tucker's left Shelby, Mississippi and came to Caldwell County, Texas in 1851. They stayed in Texas 5 years and decided to return to Shelby, Mississippi. On the way, which was early in the fall, they camped in a large pecan grove and Grandmother Tucker's single brother ate a large quantity of pecans which were not yet fully ripe. He became very ill that night and died the next day and was buried where they camped. The family never went back to Mississippi, but settled in Lincoln County, Arkansas where they stopped on their way to Mississippi."

I believe that they lived in that section of Drew County that became Lincoln County. This family may have lived near the Cleveland County, AR line.

1. SHEPARD2 TUCKER (DANIEL1) was born in 1827 or 1835 in Alabama, and died Bef. 1900 in Arkansas. He married SARAH WHITE Bef. 1853 in possibly Mississippi, daughter of UNKNOWN WHITE and CINTHIA UNKNOWN. She was born May 1832 in Alabama, and died June 27, 1922 in Palmyra, Lincoln County, Arkansas.

Children of SHEPARD TUCKER and SARAH WHITE are:
i.	CHILD3 TUCKER, b.
Is there any one in Cleveland County, who attends the New Hope Baptist Church in Rison, AR. I have two family members buried in the cemetery , next to the church.
I have a picture of both Tombstones, the pictures do not let me read the wording on the stone .
I saw that 75 yo son. That's obviously a mis-something since his parents were in their 40's. I am assuming the same thing...25 years old. I didn't realize he had been married to another woman. So far, all I've got is the line of men back to Hiliard and possibly his mother and father, Stephen and Phebe Hawkins. Not positive about that part yet. I have so much paperwork around this computer right now and I walked away from it to go out of town overnight and now I'm totally lost again! ;) I've got to review everything and get back into it before I make too many mistakes.

Your email address isn't working any longer but I do have information for you. I am a descendant of William J Harris and Dice A Jones. There is an obit I found for Steven M Harris which said they moved to Cleveland County in 1862. I am just beginning to delve into this side of the family and was making an assumption that these families were related. I haven't gone back far enough to confirm it as of yet but will get there soon. Thanks for your post and feel free to email me. I have a family tree that includes William and Dice.

Hi St_Teapot...

All I have so far (couple days of quick research) is that William James married Dice A Jones and had Claude E. Claude married Callie and had Aubert Butler. Aubert Butler married Rubye Golden and had Aubert D (the D doesn't stand for anything) and Aubert D married Louvicie Williams and they had...me!

http://trees.ancestry.com/pt/person.aspx?tid=4488189&pid...

This is a link to my tree but I don't have a lot of the Harris stuff up yet. I'm waiting to complete more research and gather documents. If you have more info on the family and can share...that would be great.
Thanks! Robin
