I also attempted to send private message, will try again in few days. We don't have a lot of information or pictures.
I do know that Esther died in California, as Esther D. Bass. We were in Ca. shortly thereafter and was given this information by her daughters
Ellen and Louise.
I would prefer private message if we can get it to work.
Any information period would be great! My great-grandfather was John Stogner, Herman and Esther's son and I Lillie's brother. I know absolutely nothing about the Stogner side of my family and know no relatives other than immediate family. If you would like I can send you a private message. I have not found anyone connected to this line that has pictures or anything and would love to have some. Thank you for replying.

Thanks so much for the info and I will look forward to the finished copy. Please use my email address in the previous posting and that way I can also send information on Alice's line if you wish. We also have one photo of Alice, a couple of postcards from Amos and even have a copy of Amos' death certificate (which you may already have). Milton

I think you are correct about the orphanage, but we have always heard it was in Mississippi. My mother is Cathy barrett winningham (fordyce ar) her parents were leroy Robert barrett and Tommie bridges barrett (new Edinburg ar). Leroy was my grandfather and he is the son of amos and addie barrett. Amos and addie also had 4 other children: addie Marie barrett steed, Redmond Grady barrett, Nannie barret trammel, Della may barrett, and orie barrett. We did not even know amos had a sister but my grandmother had mentioned his brother coming to see them once, I believe his name may have been John. I don't know where he ended up at. From what I have found amos was born in Alabama then went to Mississippi, addie was from Mississippi. My grandfather leroy was born in Mississippi as well. My mother also had three brothers robert Leon barrett (died as infant), Danny joe barrett ( died in 2008), Sammy barrett (dutton, al). Amos, addie, papaw leroy, aunt Marie, uncle Danny joe, Redmond Grady, Robert Leon are all buried at the new Edinburg cemetery here in new Edinburg ar. Addie and amos lived on the place where my grandparents house still stands today. May not can fill past amos for you but that should add a few to your branches maybe. Some of aunt may's kids still live in California, don't think aunt Marie had any children, will have to ask my mom. Grady died fairly young, and not sure about orie. Nannie was married to Nolan Edgar trammell. Danny joe has 3 children, Sammy has 2, and my mom has me and my brother. I am still in the process of mapping all of this out. Please stay in touch any info you can provide would greatly be appreciated. As soon as I get everything from amos to current bunch all mapped out I would like to send you a copy.

Thank you for the response. My wife Gloria A. Bishop Copeland is the granddaughter of Alice (possible first name Mary) Barrett sister of Amos. Amos visited here (Baldwyn, Ms.) a few times back in the late forties and early fifties from Ark. In trying to find Alice and Amos's parents I have come to the conclusion that they may have been orphaned when young over in Ala. but not sure about that. Any light you can shed will be appreciated.
Riley Byrd was married to Sadie Richardson on October 23, 1921. Sadie Richardson's mother was Laura Belle Patrick, who is my great aunt. I have considerable genealogy information on the Patrick family if you are interested. You did not indicate that you needed information from the maternal side of your family tree, so you may already have that information.

I have a Boyte line from Bradley County. Robert Levi Boyte was rasied by his maternal aunt, Millie Thompson Moseley and her husband John Bell Moseley. The Post that I asked about was married to the sister of Cora Cornelia Moore Boyte wife of Robert. Had always her that Verdies' first husband had been killed but never knew how. Now I can go further with finding all the scoop on the shooting. My dads' line was all over Bradley, Cleveland, Dallas and Grant counties, they all just kept moving could never 'sit a spell'. I am in Sheridan, Grant county at this point. I have a home in Houma Louisiana. Came up here to make my dad happy. He is 85 years young and wanted to be near my oldest son so here we are. LOL My lines in Arkansas are Haygood, Moore, Boyte, Moseley and all conecting lines. What are your lines and where do you live? Love hearing from people

I have the obit for (Theodore) Ted L. Smith from the Herald buried in the Crossroads Cemetery. The obit is dated Feb. 25, 1926. Services were in charge of Rev. J.e. Waddell of the Methodist church and Rev. C.m. Miller of the Baptist Church. I'm looking for any Death information On Ted. Hoping to find his parents. Who or how would I contact to get these records? I would appreciate any information that you could share with me.
Thanks, Glorianne
