COX, Mr. Jordan Evan - age 73, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at McLaren-Flint.
On Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 73 years of age Jordan Evan Cox departed this life.

The life’s journey of Jordan Cox began August 2, 1940 in Rison, Arkansas.

He was the 8th of 11 children born to the late Mack Dan Cox, Sr and Bettie (Ridgeway) Cox.

Jordan was an outstanding basketball player and received a scholarship to AM & N College in Pine Bluff, AR after graduating from Lanwood High School in Rison, AR.

He attended the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. J.L. McComb.

Jordan later relocated to Flint, Michigan and was employed by A.C. Spark, a division of General Motors.

Mr. Jordan Evan Cox leaves to cherish his memories: 2 daughters, Theresa (Reginald) Cox-Henderson of Phoenix, AZ and Debra Cox of Atlanta, GA; 3 sons, Rev. Henry (Tangela) Cox of Warren, AR, Andre Cox of Kansas City, KS and Kasmer Cox of Atlanta, GA; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Dollie Lyles, Lucy White and Betty Johnson-LaMar; 4 sisters-in-law, Arlene Cox, Jewell Cox, Christeen Cox, all of Flint and Willie Ann Cox of Rison, AR; brother-in-law, Frank Harper of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special great-niece, Michelle Cox.

Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his parents, Mack Dan and Bettie Cox, Sr.; 2 sisters, Daisy Roshell and Pearlie Harper; 5 brothers, Mack, Fred, John “Fatman,” Rev. William A. and Adolphus Cox.

Family hour 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 106 E. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 12 noon. Pastor Daniel Smith officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St.

Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Mr. Cox will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 noon-8 p.m. Tuesday.
