Would like burial records for Jacob and Clarinda (Clara) Wagner

They lived in Clayton, Cleburne, Ark in the 1930 census. I think Jacob died 3 Jan 1939 in Cleburne Co. All I would like is the birth and death dates from cemetery records.
They had four children, Eva, Charles, Jesse F. and Theodore J. The three male children also lived in Cleburne Co. Any help would be appreciated.

Anna Jane Malone

In Carroll and Benton County Tennessee in 1860s there were
several families who later moved to Cleburne County Arkansas.
I am looking for any Malone family info - thinking I might find the
family of my Anna Jane Malone Mullins Higdon that way.
In 1860 Jane Malone was living with a Norwood family in
Carroll Co Tennessee.
In 1861 she married a James R. Mullins in Carroll Co TN
Oct 1863 her son James Buel Mullins was born
May 1864 James R Mullins died as a prisoner

In nearby Benton County Tennessee was the family of T. Higdon,
and his first wife Dolly Thompson. I have some census records
on this family. His oldest son was in same unit as James R. Mullins,
some of the Norwood men were also in same unit. It was the
7th TN CAV USA.

In 1866 Jane Malone Mullins married T. Higdon in Carroll Co TN.
They moved to his house in Benton Co TN, and had 3 children
Sometime ca 1870s they moved to Van Buren Co Arkansas.
T. Higdon started a ferry across the Little Red River - the town there
was later named after him - Higden, Arkansas.

I have not been able to find the Malone family that Jane comes
from in TN. Perhaps some of her family made the move to Arkansas -
any help out there?

In the 1900 AR census she is living with her daughter and Turney
son-in-law and is listed as Jane Higdon. She was the grandmother
of Mary Ann Mullins Barnum, Leonie Mullins Turney, Jim and James
Mullins. Also the grandmother of some of the Turneys (Ida Turney Nelson Turney -
whose second husband was Robert Abraham Turney of Higden)
and there are connections to some of the Hooten family.

I have documentation for my family back to Joshua Pettit of Spartanburg, South Carolina. My Tree starts with my grandfather Zachariah T. My tree goes Zachariah Talmadge> Zachariah Taylor> Ashford> Nathan> Joshua (brother to Henry)> Joshua. In South Carolina I have that Joshua Pettit and Henry Pettit first showed up there on the 1790 census. I have Henry's Rev. War Pension naming his father as Joshua Pettit. I find FGS naming his line as Joshua(from my line)>Joshua>Thomas>Thomas>Henri but I am not finding any documentation to support this. I live in Arkansas and am just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to find the documentation that will support this information?

I am hoping to find someone related to this family that might have an old family Bible they would be willing to have copied. Zachariah Taylor and his sons Benjamin, Joseph, Zachariah Talmadge, and possibly William a brother to Zachariah Taylor came to the Van Buren/Cleburne County area in the late 1800. Zachariah and his 1st wife were located in Pope County then later was found with his second wife Mary Ann Ritter in Cleburne/Van Buren area.

Dunn, Carlton, McCarty near Wolf Bayou in Cleburne Co., AR 1880s

The Dunn, McCarty and Carlton family supposedly in this area in 1880s. I need information on a G.W. and Hariett York Dunn family. The only thing I have is a story that they left MO for OK and that she died in childbirth and is buried along with her newborn child on the banks of the White River in northern AR. We also have the specific place Wolf Bayou in Cleburne Co., AR in the family history. Would you be able to tell me about that place and if the White River is near it. Also if there is a McCarty or Carlton family in the area at the same time frame. James A. Dunn, who is a son of G.W. Dunn, married Virginia Louise McCarty in Garvin Co., OK where these families finally located. Our family history says that these families met in AR but I do NOT know where. Union Soldiers Burial

Francis Post was a Union Soldier in Co. C, 10th Illinois Calvary. He died of TB in a hospital at Brownsville Sept 13, 1863. I was in Brownville looking for where he might possibly be buried. I examined the cemetery books at the library and was not able to locate a record. I do not have any information as to what hospital, it may have been just a temporary army facility. I am wondering if anyone has an idea where a union soldier might be buried that died during the Civil War in Brownsville.

I know that Thurman was born in Cleburne county 11 May 1894
and died 12 Oct 1964.Lydia was born 14 Sep.1901 and died 29
Nov 1982.(Cause they are my mother and father-in-law)
Daniel Webster and family came to Cleburne County from
Dickson county,Tenn about 1910.I sure would like to know
where did they go from there. I know about the Hodges.
Thurmans grandfather was John W. Hodges and he married
Rachel Hodge he died on the way home from the Civil War.
John W. Hodges was born in Pike County Missouri about 1834.
I need help with him if anybody knows about him please let

I was born in my grandfather's house near Edgemont in Cleburne County. My father, Willard, was the son of David J. LINN (b 4/22/1886 - d 10/3/1952), John LINN (b 12/12/1856 - d 11/27/1927), William LINN (b 1/1/1824 - d 1/8/1890), Asa LINN Sr. (b ca 1777 - d 4/7/1868)

Does anyone have any information on the family line beyond Asa LINN Sr.? Siblings, or Father? It is possible that he had a brother named John who was the son of William S. Linn?

Asa Sr. died in Jackson County TN. William LINN (my gg grandfather) moved to Van Buren County Arkansas before 1850 and all of his family was born in Arkansas.

Ashford Pettit my great-grandfather passed away on 12 Sep 1894. I'm looking for an obituary or any document that might list who Ashford's parents were. His children were John A, Caleb, James Matthew, Nathan, William Nathaniel, Elmira, Zachariah Taylor, Joseph C, Robert, Ascenath, Franklin Andrew, & Allisen Plot. If there is anyone that has access to papers that were printed in Arkansas during 1894 that could do a look up for me on this I would greatly appreciate it. James Matthew, Zachariah, & Joseph & possibly Frank all moved to the Van Buren/Cleburne county area from Alabama. Zack & Joseph married Weems sisters and both remarried after moving to Arkansas. Early families - 1776 in Virginia

I am a Turney researcher - the family arrived in Van Buren Co Arkansas in about 1835 from Tennessee, later they would live in Cleburne Co AR......

I have copy of two petitions dated 1776 and 1777 from Fincastle and Washington Co Virginia with lots of names. These people had moved out of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia onto the frontier, north of the Holston River - later much of it would be eastern Tennessee. A few of the families stayed in the area, but most moved on to other parts of Tennessee or Kentucky. I find so many names which appear later in VBC/Cleburne Co Arkansas. If anyone would like a lookup I would be happy to do so.

Some of the names:
Hawkins, Johnson, Carr, Ramsey, Linn - these later in 1830s appear in Jackson County Tennessee
Turney - later to Smith Co TN, then VBC AR
Crockett, Sevier, Mansker, Owens, Martin, Berry, Adames, King, Davis, Cresswell, Campbell, Gray, Young, Barnes, Edmiston, Miller, Black, Summers, Scott, Teeter, Payne, Stuart, Bledsoe, Blevins, Cox, Williams, Webb, Malone, Cross, Bealor, Smith, Maxwell, English, Renfrow, Clark, King, Galbreath, White, Bird, Robinson, Goff, Wood, Oins, Robertson, Ward, Bailey, Bell and many others.

Since the petitions were sent around to the neighborhoods, seeing the names just before and just after your family name gives some indication who the neighbors were. There was a section of about 20 miles just south of what is today Abingdon Virginia which was made up mostly of German speaking families such as Fleenor, Funkhouser, etc.

If your research has taken you this far back, I would be happy to do a look-up for you. This is about as good as a census....considering the early date.

I am Looking for information on my great grandparents.
My great grandmother's name was Dona Belle Morrison. Her maiden name was Bennett.I am unsure if the spelling of her first name is correct,but this is how it appears on my grandfather's social security card application.She died in childbirth somewhere around the time my grandfather was 3.This would have been around 1913.This bit of information is all I have on her as my grandfather had no memory of her because he was so small when she died and his father went shortly after.My grandfather was born in Heber Springs and this is in Cleburne county.This is probably where she died.
I am interested in trying to find any shred of information on her.This is my greatgrandmother and I have no idea where she is buried or where she was born and it is very important to me.
I would also like to find any information on her husband Charley (sp?) Morrison.I am looking for places of birth,where they might be buried, and when and where they were married.
Thsi is important because my grandfather was robbed of his childhood as he was put to work at a very young age by his father's brother who was very cruel to him.He never knew his parents and it is sad to me.
I would like to find this information for my mother,I think it would be very special to her.
The last place I know where there might be a possibility of finding this information is in or close to Heber Springs.

Jonathon was my great grandfather on my grandfathers(Buddy McMahan)side. I can't seem to find any info on Jonathon. I'm not sure where he was born or who his parents were,but he last lived and is buried in Almond,Independence County,Arkansas.My grandpa was born in 1913, and his father,Jonathon, passed a few years later in 1916-17. They lived in OKlahoma and then moved to Arkansas between 1910 aand 1920. Son Hershel was born Abt 1902 in OK. I am wondering what became of Malissa C. Gaither born @1878 to Cordellia Lodusky "Doc" Goodman Gaither and her husband, William B. Gaither.

Cordellia Goodman was born @1858 AR died Sep 25, 1879 & is buried somewhere in Quitman, I would imagine at Goodloe Cemetery since her Grandma, Mary Moore b. 1797 NC died June 20, 1859 Quitman, Van Buren/Cleburne Co., AR is buried at Goodloe Cemetery. On the other hand Cordellia may have been buried wherever Gaither's are buried. I never located a headstone for Cordellia Goodman Gaither. The mortality schedule for 1880 says she died from purporal "childbed" fever. I believe the child was named Malissa C. Gaither but I do not know what became of her?

Did William B. Gaither marry again and did the child live to adulthood?

Any help would be really appreciated.

A family tradition tells of my Great Grandpa Patterson, who in 1898, was robbed by Lee Mills and Will Hardin, had his throat slit and was left for dead, but didn't die. Will Hardin was shot in his jail cell by townsfolk and Lee Mills went to trial and was hanged. I have a photo of a newspaper article about the hanging and the words to a song Lee Mills supposedly wrote and sang at his hanging. I've heard that there is a small booklet published about Heber Springs history, that has this story in it. Can anyone suggest where I might find a copy?

Interested in any information you can provide about Harry Pride's ownership of old, historic "Greer" plantation on northeast "horn" of old Greer's Ferry Lake where I lived and worked as a young child and ward of Harry Pride. Believe he owned in during 1940s and early 1950s before losing it for taxes. He had restored much of the old buildings, plantation house during his tenure. I remember cotton, corn, old-growth timber culture, moonshine; very large transient labor force.
