Wolf Bayou (the stream) runs into the White River north (upstream) from Batesville. The stream originates in Cleburne County in Healing Springs township. There is a community named Wolf Bayou in that township. In the 1880 census there are McCartys (but no Louise) and Carltons in Healing Springs township.
