I have a William Cowan/ Cowen/ Cowin/ who lived in Arkansas, before moving to Missouri, then on to Texas. He lived in Taney County near Forsythe. The Hospital in Branson is Scaggs Medical Center. Could be a place to look. William's Father was Henry Cowan from Rowan Co, SC. Thanks, Krealyn
