I am researching the James Dunlap b.1821-1823 in Tennessee, d.?. He and his wife, Lucretia (Lucrecy, Cretia), had four children born in Tennessee, Elizabeth, Mary J., Julia Ann, and James M. Dunlap. I believe James M. went by the name of "Bud." This family is listed in the Hickman County, Tennessee in 1850 & 1860 U.S. Census. By the time they are in Farmington, Graves County, Kentucky in 1870 U.S. Census, only Julia and James M. are still with them. Finally in 1880 U.S. Census they are in Bradshaw, Clay County, Arkansas. I'd love to know where James and Lucretia are buried ... likely Clay County, Ark. I am following their descendent, James M. Dunlap, b. Mar 1866 according to the 1900 U.S. Census, but place of birth is listed as Kentucky. I believe this to be in error. James "Bud" M. Dunlap died between 1900 and 1910 and I am looking for his death date and grave site. I believe James M. Dunlap was married to Mildred Jackson who died between 1898 and 1900. James M. and Mildred had six children listed in the 1900 census: Gentry Dunlap, Henry Dunlap, Elme [?] Dunlap, Charles "Charley" Dunlap, May Dunlap, and Beaulah Dunlap, all born in Arkansas. I am following the line of Gentry Dunlap, 1883-1972, a life-long resident of Clay County, Arkansas. Gentry married a Myrtle Menty Baker. I believe one of the females in this Dunlap line were Native American ... likely Cherokee. Hopefully someone will have info to share on this line of Dunlaps.
