Thank you for your replies. As far as I know Albert's first marriage was to Mattie Jane Thompson and their oldest daughter would be my father's half sister. Same father, different mothers. My father b. 1938 is still living and is the last born to Albert. Yes that the Sarah Bird family is my families line. She is an Emerson/Emmerson and married Dempsey Bird b.1828AL(research would be around Jackson County, AL, if I remember correctly I learned this from land records). They were married in 1848 in Madison Co., TN. They are my gggrandparents. Their son S.J. Bird b. 1849TN married to Mary Frances Olds are Albert's parents. According to the censuses Dempsey Bird is the son of Shadrach and Jamima Unknown Bird. They were both born about 1799NC. Research would be around Moore County, NC. I have seen her name as Jemmemiah and their son Dempsey named a daughter Jamina. I was never able to find anymore with regard to her. Shadrach Bird is not the same as the Revolutionary War Veteran I've seen talked about at the boards before, but he could have been his nephew. I was never able to prove or disprove it, but if true, then my Bird line could be traced to Robert Bird of Virginia, who had a son Robert Bird, whom I have tried to figure out if they are Shadrach Bird's father and grandfather. The Emerson family is pretty well documented, but my Bird line past Shadrach and Jamima are not. Again, I thank you, and if you have questions (or even stories) feel free to write.
